DV vs DV NY (How are they different?)
Both mouthpieces have a full resonant sound due to the secondary window. The DV will have more projection and be brighter due to the raised floor of the chamber while the DV NY will have a more traditional Jazz sound and projection due to the deep full chamber. We often recommend trying both mouthpieces if you are not sure which model would suit you.

Jody Jazz Alto Saxophone DV NY Mouthpiece
The DV NY for Alto Sax will appeal to the Straight Ahead player looking for the best playing and sounding mouthpiece that he or she can find. The mouthpiece is based on our popular DV model but has several modifications, the most significant being a deep chamber. The HR* CUSTOM DARK is our premium line of hard rubber saxophone mouthpieces, where the goal was to make the most beautiful sounding and playing pieces that we possibly could. As alto sax players, we know there are often a lot of unpleasant highs in the sound, especially on the higher notes. With the HR* CUSTOM DARK Alto, we retained the fun of playing a great alto mouthpiece while taking all the unpleasant highs off, by shaping a beautiful rollover baffle which gives it the pop and feedback that alto players are used to and then making a big large chamber and bore to give it this mellow, warm pretty sound.
The HR* CUSTOM DARK Alto uses the finest material used in hard rubber mouthpieces today, which is our proprietary Chedeville Rubber. CHR (Chedeville Rubber) is a softer purer formula than regular standard hard rubber. This rubber imparts a rich warm sound.

An exciting new addition to the DV Series saxophone mouthpieces, the new DV JC JODY CUSTOM features design modifications based upon JodyJazz Founder & President, Jody Espina’s customized personal mouthpiece. Big, fat and warm with enough power to do a variety of jobs, but sweet and dark enough to play beautiful ballads. The new DV JC JODY CUSTOM mouthpiece feels even less like a metal piece than the other DVs.
This mouthpiece comes with Rovner ligature and cap. For a ligature upgrade, we highly recommend our POWER RING Ligatures which are available for purchase separately. The POWER RING MA1 Gold and the MA1S Silver models are made specifically to fit the metal DV Alto models including the DV JC JODY CUSTOM Alto.

The JodyJazz JET Alto Saxophone mouthpiece is free blowing, easy and fun to play mouthpiece that captures the full range of tonal qualities of the instrument.
The JET has a clean, focused sound with strong projection and cut, while maintaining extraordinary versatility. The JodyJazz JET is excellent for Rock, Funk, Blues, Smooth Jazz and Latin Music, Reggae, Ska, Funk, Hip Hop, Top 40, Duranguense, Merengue, Salsa, Cumbia, Compa, Tejano, Musica Popular Brasileira, but at the same time we think that many alto sax players will be surprised at how well it plays lead alto in a big band and due to itôs versatility, blends nicely with a concert band or saxophone quartet.
In other words the JET is a great saxophone mouthpiece that seems to appeal to a very broad variety of players. The thing to remember is that no two players are alike so that itôs all about finding the mouthpiece that responds to your morphology (physical makeup). Morphology means that you have a chamber in your mouth and throat which reacts with the mouthpiece so some people sound better on a small chamber mouthpiece like the JET and some people sound better with a larger chamber piece like the JodyJazz HR*.

The SUPER JET is a Palladium-plated Brass Mouthpiece developed specifically with the Smooth Jazz, Rock and Funk player in mind. Itôs a very contemporary sounding mouthpiece with many characteristics we have not offered in our range up until this time. Itôs going to give you more power, more edge and more altissimo. But as with all of our mouthpieces, it is beautifully free-blowing with enough bottom in the sound to make it more versatile than many mouthpieces in this category of small chamber pieces. The SUPER JET also features a shorter facing curve for insane altissimo.
Power and projection are derived from the small step baffle design. Brightness, edge and cut are enhanced by the Palladium-plated virgin bell brass which gives the SUPER JET a crisp clean brightness that can get very funky and dirty and due to the beak design the piece really vibrates. Like all JodyJazz mouthpieces the SUPER JET features a hand-crafted baffle, thin tip rail and side rails for that instantaneous response that JodyJazz is famous for.
