SOFT VIBRAPHONE (VS)
This stick produces a big, round, mellow sound on vibes. Great for passages that require lots of blend and minimal articulation. On marimba, this stick is perfect as a soft orchestral stick or for 2-mallet solos. Clear, rubbery sound with a well defined attack, but a soft enough core to sound full and round in the lowest octaves. Fabric wrapped core on a 15″ rattan handle.
MEDIUM VIBRAPHONE (VM)
The medium blue mallet is warm and luscious sounding yet maintains clarity throughout the range. It speaks very quickly at all dynamics and is still articulate enough for use in large ensembles. Perfect for the Maria passage in West Side Story, for comping on swing tunes in Pops shows and as a general mallet for solo and chamber playing.
HARD VIBRAPHONE (VH)
The hard green stick is very articulate and clear without being shrill. It produces a more even spread of high and low overtones than most hard vibe sticks, giving it a bright yet full sound without being heavy. This agile stick is perfect for the faster passages in West Side Story and Catch Me If You Can.
